Pictorial map endpapers in apricot and beige. Inscription "To Tommy and Eugene signed by Fred Wardenburg" on endpapers. Rare authentic handsigned author signature. Diary of a trip the author made to a number of African countries in 1950. From French equatorial Africa to Nairobi and south to Victoria Falls and South Africa. All illustrations and photos by the author, including endless photos of : French equatorial Africa; Belgian Congo; South Africa; lions head Capetown; the Zulu women are husky; Howick Falls; mountain scene; pygmy group; the Congo children enjoy having picture taken; native barber; tiny piles of vegetables; drummer boy; for the dance, one has music; water carriers; the game ranger; the natives build suspension bridges; the Ankole cattle in Uganda have long horns; they all love the dance; the Zulu witch doctor; and many many many more!
