The book has been inscribed on the front free endpaper by someone claiming to be J.R.R. Tolkien... signature does NOT appear to be authentic. No other writing, or inscriptions. The dustjacket is NOT PRICE-CLIPPED and shows the original price of 21s net. The dustjacket is in GOOD condition, but the spine is chipped, ripped and darkened by exposure to sunlight. Comes complete with dustjacket protector so the imperfections are well hidden and will minimize any further aging. What can you say about this story that has not already been said before.
