| Item Description :Book-of-the-Month Club, 1995. Hard cover book, with dust jacket in new, unread condition. There really were no flaws that I could find. The boards are two-toned, with salmon boards and blue linen on the spine. The lettering is a bright, clean silver and the endpapers are a salmon color that matches the boards. Written by Nobel Prize winner, John Steinbeck, here are two of his most well-known novels in one book. A short description of Tortilla Flat (1935) is that it's "a depiction of the lovable rogues who frequent the seamier side of the California fishing town of Monterey", and is recoginzed as the work that first brought acclaim to John Steinbeck. Steinbeck's reputation continued to grown when Of Mice and Men (a story about itinerant laborers) was published in 1937. This edition is part of a special edition of Steinbeck's books. 500 pages.
