Contains the first book appearance of "On the Way Home" by Langston Hughes (Story Magazine, 1946, valued at $300) , "The Long Debut of Lois Taggett" by J. D. Salinger (Story Magazine, 1942 - valued at $800.) Salinger's sixth published story, which appeared in book form for the first time here, in 1949, never published in one of Salinger's books.) , "Two Lovely Beasts" by Liam O'Flaherty, and contributions by: William Faulkner, Tennessee Williams, Norman Mailer, Truman Capote et al.
