Conan Doyle, "Big Steamers" by Rudyard Kipling, a Pimpernel story by Baroness Orczy, "Fleur-de-Lis" by Kate Douglas Wiggin, and many others; illustrations (many full-color on tipped-in plates) are by Edmund Dulac, Arthur Rackham, W.
