Fourteen Songs From When We Were Very Young | Publisher : | Methuen & Co. | | Year : | 1926 | | Edition : | Eighth | | Price : | $119.95 | | | | |
| Item Description :Methuen & Co, London, 1926. Very good condition rarity. Front and back covers in excellent condition but for very slight mark to title. Corners very slightly bumped - as to be expected of a book 80 years old. Book has a neat ink inscription dated Xmas 1925 but otherwise internally is clean and crisp - no scribbles, no foxing, no tears. Binding is excellent, nice and tight. A lovely copy of this book in very good condition - the songs from the first and rarest of the 4 legendary Christopher Robin books 'When We Were Very Young'. Hardback, brown boards (sharp, not faded) with images of two of the characters on the front cover. Fourteen songs including Buckingham Palace, Happiness and Halfway Down. Eighth edition. Beautiful illustrations by Ernest Shepherd, musical settings by H. Fraser-Simson. Overall a really good copy of this much sought after book. This is a departure from the popular author and dramatist's usual lines. He has always amused and delighted grown-up readers and playgoers; in this gay and frolicsome book he will enchant the nursery too. Mr. Shepard's drawings are in keeping with Mr. Milne's irresistible fun and fancy. Dedicated by permission of H.R.H. Princess Mary Viscountess Lascelles to the Autocrats of Her Nursery. With Decorations By Ernest H Shephard. Images :
